The Art of Grieving
Making Space for What We Carry

Grief is one of the most natural experiences of being human, yet so few of us have ever been taught how to grieve or how to let go.

In many ways, we swim in an ocean of grief, and our society is drowning in it. We grieve people and relationships, health and identity, dreams and expectations, places and possibilities, and the lives we imagined we would be living. Grief touches everyone, yet what we often learn is to hide it, avoid it, minimize it, or carry it quietly.

But acknowledging grief is only part of the practice. Grief needs expression. It needs movement. It needs witnessing. We sometimes hear that grief is love with nowhere to go. Perhaps grief is love looking for a place to go — into tears and remembrance, into breath and movement, into ritual and conversation, into the ways we continue to love and live.

Letting go is about letting flow. This is the art of grieving. The practice is learning how to be in relationship with what naturally arises. As autumn moves toward winter and the holiday season approaches, the changing season offers a natural invitation to tend our grief. Autumn itself is a season of release, reminding us that letting go, change, and loss belong within the rhythms of life. Rather than hiding from what emerges, this gathering offers a compassionate place to meet grief as naturally as we meet the changing season, with space, attention, and care.

Within that space, grief can breathe. It can move, soften, and find expression when words alone cannot hold what we carry.

Join grief specialist, chaplain, and author AmarAtma Singh Khalsa for an intimate experiential workshop inspired by his newly released book, The Tender Art of Grieving. Drawing from the practices and teachings within the book, AmarAtma will guide participants through reflection, embodied and somatic exercises, compassionate conversation, breath, movement, and moments of stillness, offering practical ways to tend grief in our bodies and our lives.

Together, we will explore grieving as something that happens to us and as a practice we can learn: making space for what we carry, giving expression to what has been held within, and allowing grief to move in the ways it naturally knows how.

PALMA classes are nonrefundable, however a credit can be issued toward another class if cancelled within 48 hours.
