Lunar New Year workshop with Eve Bradford

As the Lunar Year turns from Snake to Horse, we enter a passage of rare intensity and possibility.

Snake years ask us to shed. They draw us inward, close to the ground, close to the bone—through tight places where old skins loosen and long-held patterns dissolve. This has been an underworld year: one that heightened sensitivity, brought buried stories to the surface, and asked for a deep, sometimes uncomfortable honesty with ourselves and the world we inhabit. Individually and collectively, Snake reveals what can no longer remain hidden—truths that insist on being faced, structures that have reached their limits, identities ready to be released.

Horse arrives as breath, muscle, and motion, as the antidote and the ignition. Where Snake is close to the ground, listening and dissolving, Horse carries the medicine of unbridled vitality, creative risk, devoted action, and the courage to move, both on our own and together, toward what is calling. Horse invites us into forward motion—not reckless speed, but purposeful movement guided by what we love. We move from the question What must be shed? to What longs to run free?

This gathering marks that threshold.

We come together in an intimate, sensorially rich ceremonial space to honor the intelligence of what has been shed and to consciously welcome the life force now seeking expression. The rite is woven through three interdependent pillars of Animist Daoist resourcing:

Mythosomatic Practice

Gentle, potent embodied practices that help metabolize the intensity of the Snake year and prepare the body to receive Horse’s forward-moving energy. These forms cultivate the capacity to feel deeply without being overwhelmed—rooted, receptive, and ready for motion.

Ritual & Ceremony

A bespoke elemental rite marking the turning of the year: honoring what has been released, tending what must be protected, and invoking clarity, vitality, and direction for the cycle ahead. Through collective invocation and offerings made in relationship with land and lineage, we step together into the new year with coherence and intention.

Lifecraft

Grounded integration that carries the ritual into daily life—supporting discernment around where and how we direct our energy, creativity, and care. This is about moving with Horse’s momentum without losing the sensitivity, intuition, and inner listening cultivated through Snake.

This Lunar New Year gathering is designed as a spacious, resonant experience—one that honors the land, nourishes community, and offers a meaningful pause at the threshold of the year. This work is devoted to resourcing sensitivity as a form of power: cultivating the inner ground from which clarity, courage, and creative participation naturally arise.

You are warmly invited to cross this threshold with us—carrying what has been learned, and stepping into the movement that is calling.

Eve Bradford has spent over two decades exploring the fertile intersections of art, activism, medicine, and magic—as educator, ritualist, and mentor (as well as camp counselor, direct action organizer, chef, festival producer and phone psychic). Raised by the wilds of Vermont in a hand-built cabin, she now lives in an old adobe homestead in northern New Mexico, where she tends hearth and land with her beloved. Here, she offers practice & retreats, pours tea, holds community ceremony, and creates immersive ritual theater—most often centered around open-fire feasts—each offering an invocation of deeper coherence in dissonant times. Her work centers around the syncretic, embodied spiritual philosophy of Animist Daoism—woven from decades of study and cultivation of elemental wisdom, indigenous & mythic traditions, deep ecology, systems theory, embodiment and creative practice. Deeply rooted in a lifelong commitment to the vibrant mystery at the heart of life and the ecstatic currents of art and eros, she creates spaces where sensitivity is experienced as capacity, where emotion is valued as intelligence, and where devotion gives birth to participation.
